We had a great time here in Richmond. Mason got to play with two new little buddies Ben (who is almost 3) and Will (who is almost 5). We all went out to the strawberry patch and picked fresh strawberries. The boys had a great time and Mason almost picked his whole basket. Of course they didn't wait until after dinner to start eating though. Mason started chowing and so did the other boys right at the patch! I said, save some for me!
The little guy who is closest in age to me turned one on Thursday so we were glad we could be here for his birthday, his name is Matthew. Unfortunately though he got sick the day we came and so did his daddy Billy. But, we had a great time anyway! Their mom Avery was great, she was always asking us if we wanted anything.
We also played a lot around here, I should say Mason and the boys played while Matthew and I watched. Mommy says I have to be able to use my arms and legs before I can play with the big boys. She is always mothering me, but daddy says it's for my own good. She is probably right, I mean right now I can only hold my head up, but give me a few months!
We went to dinner at Chik-Fil-A last night and 10% of our meal went to Billy's mission trip. So, the place was packed with people from the church. Mason had a great time in the play area. He is a really good climber for a little guy daddy says. He was by far the youngest climber in the crowd. Mason also helped them get the lawn cut.
We are off to DC today the 13th and will be commuting from a campground that is about an hour away. Daddy says there is a lot to see in DC. My experience has been that seeing things isn't as cool as doing things. But, on Sunday we tour the white house with one of Paul's friends. She has also arranged for us to stand and wave to the president as he comes back from camp David. She says he sometimes shakes hands, so we could get to shake the president's hands, if he is going to kiss any babies I hope to be first in line! We are planning to see Daddy's cousin Paula (and Dale and family) Monday night, which should be fun.
