Day 28 - April 25

Today was an interesting day.  We got up in the morning from a glorified parking lot and drove 2 and half hours or so, about one feeding for me.  Then we all got out of the motorhome and went down an elevator to a cave in Carlsbad.  We walked around for an hour and a half in these caves.  They were actually really cool.  Mason road on daddy's back and I got to ride in a "bee-yourn" on mommy's front, at least I think that's what she called it.  Everyone thought they were really cool.  Mason liked looking at them too.  It was a 'quiet' area and Mason did pretty well, he just kept saying "rocks" and pointing.  It was nice of him to tell me what to look at, he is a good big brother.

I learned that water deposits into the ground and over time it drains away and the limestone forms these cool caves.  The one we toured was about a mile in circumference.  Over time water still drips in and with it comes limestone that is how the caves have really cool spikes coming down from the ceiling and also have deposits on the ground that look like pedestals, I found the whole tour fascinating, I guess that osmosis while you are sleeping thing really works!

After that we drove for a few hours to Fort Stockton, TX.  We made our first stay in a Wal-Mart parking lot.  Though they didn't have cable or power mommy and daddy seemed to like it just as much as anywhere else we have stayed.  We also saw our first oil rig and that was pretty fun.  Daddy says people in Texas really like things bigger than the rest of us.  He even found something he had never seen before he insisted I put in a picture of it for all of you to see.  Well Wednesday we are climbing down a different set of caverns in Sonora.  We will keep you posted.
